AI Film News | March 10th, 2024

Here is a breakdown of the AI Film News from the video.

Nicolas Neubert + Jared Leto - It seems like now more than ever we are seeing AI filmmakers given incredible opportunities to work with some big names. Nicolas killed it with this 30 Seconds to Mars Collab! This is huge AI film news for you, as it seems like AI filmmakers are currently in high demand!

Haiper - Here is another new AI Video generator that recently came onto the market. We put it up against the big named tools, and honestly, it held up pretty well. What do you think?

Claude 3 Reads Entire Scripts - I'm sure most of you have seen the AI Film News talk online about how incredible Claude 3 is. It is amazing, but the biggest new feature is the ability to digest up to 125,000 words of information. That's an entire script! We've been testing out the tool by uploading PDF scripts and it is very accurate compared to other tools like ChatGPT.

Claude 3 Prefers ChatGPT 4 - However, we did a quick experiment asking Claude 3, ChatGPT 4, and Google Gemini Ultra to create a unique film treatment. We then made the responses anonymous and asked the tools to rate the winners based on creativity. The Results?

  • Claude 3 Prefers ChatGPT 4

  • ChatGPT 4 Prefers Google Gemini

  • Google Gemini Prefers ChatGPT 4

And if anyone is asking, I preferred Google Gemini's creation… (in this instance) Here are the treatments for you to read for yourself. Which one is your fav?

Elon's Lawsuit Against OpenAI - Elon is officially suing OpenAI for abandoning it's mission to be a non-profit for the common good. However, what is most surprising is that Elon claims that Chat GPT 4 is already at AGI levels (gulp). **Here's a catchy song somebody wrote about the whole situation.

Madonna Used AI Generated Visuals - Madonna's tour visuals, crafted by Sasha Kasiuha, are another example of how the demand for AI filmmakers is becoming greater and greater.

Layer Diffusion - Layer Diffusion is a new tool for generating images with transparent backgrounds. This it better than the normal 'remove background' feature in current tools because this tool offers more variability in the transparency.

AI Advertising with Dave Clark - We are one week into our AI Advertising course, and we could not be more impressed with all of the work the students are producing. If you are wanting to join in on the action, make sure to sign up for the course waitlist.

Learn AI Filmmaking - March was our biggest session yet and we are ramping up for April! Make sure you sign up for the waitlist so you can get notified immediately when enrollment opens.

How to Learn AI Filmmaking at Curious Refuge - If you haven’t been able to snag a seat to one of our courses yet, make sure you join the waitlist and keep watching our AI film news, where we will keep you updated as to when enrollment opens.

Wav2Lip++ - This week in your AI film news we are highlighting another new lip sync tool from SyncLabs that gives the new Pika tool a run for it's money. This was created by the same creators of Wav2Lip and is a good step forward in terms of quality. We did a test, and it seems to work pretty well! What do you think?

SORA + Pika Lip Sync - Worlds collide again, as two pieces of AI film news come together again! Pika Labs’ new lip sync feature and OpenAI’s new AI Video generator. You've probably seen the SORA video of the blue alien walking around, right? Well, somebody used Pika Labs to turn it into a rap video. Honestly, it's not bad!

Curious Refuge NAB Party News Next Week - Who's all going to NAB? Well, we are pumped to be hosting a party on the night of the 15th. There's a limited number of spots, but we would love to see you there! Be on the lookout for the party tickets to go on sale next week. :)

OpenAI Signs a Letter - OpenAI signed a letter agreeing to build AI responsibly. It seems like this was instigated by Elon Musk's lawsuit and accusations.

China Compared to India - China is aiming to encourage AI startups by offering financial help to AI startups. India has had a more cautious response, requiring government approval going forward for new model launches.

GPT + Excel - The partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft shows up again in the AI film news headlines. Now we are going to see Chat GPT integrated with Excel. Alright, the real question is do you use Microsoft Suite or Google Suite?
